Grief Dialogues

Announcement: Artist-in-Residence, Dr. Qwynn Galloway-Salazar

Grief Dialogues is honored and truly delighted to welcome Dr. Qwynn Galloway-Salazar as our first Artist-in-Residence.

Qwynn’s work sits at the intersection of service, storytelling, and compassionate care. As founder of In Their Honor, she has dedicated her life to ensuring that veterans, caregivers, and families facing end-of-life experiences are supported, witnessed, and remembered with dignity. Her work reminds us that grief is not something to hide from, but something to hold together in community.

What makes this partnership especially meaningful is how closely our visions align. At Grief Dialogues, we believe that art can open conversations about dying, death, and grief that many people struggle to have. Qwynn brings that same belief by creating spaces where stories can be told, loss can be honored, and communities can gather with compassion.

During her residency, Qwynn will collaborate with Grief Dialogues artists and communities through new works in development, facilitated conversations, witnessing spaces, and community workshops. Together we will explore themes of service, caregiving, remembrance, and legacy. This work will expand our engagement with Veteran and caregiver communities while deepening the ways we use art to witness grief. Qwynn has already taken the lead role for our upcoming In Honor performance in San Antonio, Texas October 2026.

We feel incredibly fortunate that Qwynn is bringing her wisdom, heart, and vision into the Grief Dialogues creative family. This residency is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long and meaningful collaboration.
