Grief Dialogues’ films document real human experiences of grief, love, and meaning. They use the intimacy of the camera to slow time, hold complexity, and view difficult stories through a shared lens.
Written & Directed by Nya Chambless, Produced by Jerry Chambless
True friendship shines brighter than any shadow.
Drawing inspiration from a real-life friendship during Nya’s elementary years, “My Guardian Angel,” stands as a poignant testament to the power of love and friendship. This short film not only celebrates growth and inclusion, it also serves as a beacon for the “Out of Grief Comes Art” movement. Nya used her grief to weave together themes of resilience and creativity, while also fostering awareness of childhood cancer and encouraging empathy and understanding in children — of all ages.
Honoring Choices is adapted from the stage play Honoring Choices originally commissioned by and performed for Honoring Choices PNW in 2020. Zoom adaptations with diverse casts, including a performance in Spanish, were presented for Reimagine: Life, Loss, and Love and for Honoring Choices PNW in honor of National Healthcare Decision Day in 2021.
